Land of the Free, Home of the Blame

Before you jump on the “blame teachers for school bullying” band wagon, this article might give some insight from the inside. As an educator for over 30 years, I’ve been able to objectively observe, study, experiment and extrapolate vital information about the growing bullying epidemic. While there is certainly “enough blame to go around”, there is also a deluge of data pouring in about all the stakeholders in the effort to reduce bullying incidents, especially in school.  While teachers and administrators have been an easy target (most recently in the “Bully” movie), it is ignorant and irresponsible to lay exaggerated blame at their feet.
